In addition to the federal government, 27 states have established Do-Not-Call (DNC) lists. And 23 states have DNC legislation pending. As an operator of an outbound call center, you cannot afford to mistakenly call customers who don't want to be contacted.

That's what Gryphon Networks' (Norwood, MA) Do-Not-Call service prevents. The application's primary function is to block agents from calling customers on DNC lists.

"Fines for violating Do-Not-Call laws range from $10,000 in Florida to $25,000 in Oregon," says Keith Fotta, CEO and president of Gryphon Networks. "And it's a felony for your third violation in Kentucky. Currently, 70% of the US' consumer population is covered by state Do-Not-Call laws."

The service validates outbound calls through a CT link into the predictive dialer. If the phone number is on a DNC list, or if the number violates a curfew regulation, the software blocks the call. A recording alerts the agent to the DNC number and recommends calling a new number.

If your company also has small offices in different locations that don't use predictive dialers, Gryphon delivers the service through local telecom carriers.

The app also lets agents automatically add consumers to DNC lists by pressing two digits - #0 - on the telephone keypad. If one of your other offices attempts to call that phone number even half of a second later, the number is blocked.

Gryphon Networks provides real-time Web-based reports. The reports can aggregate data from all your centers or for individual agents. You can view all outbound activities, including the number of calls made; the number of attempted calls to DNC phone numbers; and the number of consumers who agents added to the DNC list.

Depending on the level of access you set, different people can view different stats. For example, a branch manager might only be able to view data from his branch, but a regional manager can look at all the branches in the region.

Gryphon Networks requires that you initially purchase DNC lists, but from then on Gryphon handles the responsibility of obtaining the quarterly updates of the DNC lists. Gryphon Networks' Do-Not-Call service costs approximately $1 a day per agent. 781-255-0444, www.gryphonnetworks.com
