Friday, February 9, 2007 Are You Underpaid?Ever wonder what the guy who does your job in the call center across the street is making? Each year we get a very handy booklet from a recruiting firm Telemanagement Search. It's their annual Call Center, Telesales and Customer Service National Salary Guide. It lists the low, average and high ranges for salaries across the country for a wide variety of call center positions, ranging from upper management to supervisors, training managers, workforce managers.... and it's broken out by inbound vs. outbound, in-house vs. outsourcer. And it has a geographical correction factor, so you can tell if the city or region you're in is above or below the national guidelines. All told, it's a valuable piece of work. They sell it for $45, and you can order it online. For that you get the salary scoop for 25 call center job titles, including detailed job descriptions. For example, did you know that the average salary for a scheduling and forecasting manager is $66k? And that a call center manager at an outsourcer makes $65k? Or maybe you aspire to become vice president of customer service: that's around $120k. Good hunting. Posted by Keith Dawson on Friday, February 9, 2007 at 3:07 PM |
