Before co-founding WIDCOMM with Hiep Pham, Rajiv spent over 15 years working for several leading companies in the wireless industry. Most recently he held a pivotal position at Uniden, managing both the wireless modem and PC card and cellular/PCS wireless data product lines.
Before joining Uniden, Rajiv was engineering director for PCSI Inc., where he contributed to the pACT-based, two-way paging system. While at PCSI, Mr. Kumar also contributed to the CDPD- and AMPS-based smart phone.
Before his time at PCSI, Mr. Kumar served as the engineering director for Hughes Network Systems, leading the engineering group responsible for CDPD network infrastructure development.
Rajiv authored two technical books -- CDPD and Wireless Data Networks -- and many technical papers, and is currently regarded as one of the leading experts in the wireless communications industry. He holds four patents in wireless communications and networking.
Rajiv received a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and an M.S. in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay.
