Telesoft Launches New Version Of TRITON MT Test Tool By CommWeb
Telesoft Design LTD's (Atlanta, GA - 770-454-6001) Version 5 of the TRITON MT CD-ROM is designed to run on its multi-tasking, multi-protocol tester. Under the software upgrade, the TRITON Version 5 offers a Bit Error Rate Testing (BERT) application which is capable of performing both transmit and receive ends for error-rate analysis of a single 64kb/s E-1 timeslot. Reports generated include Errored Seconds (ES), Severely Errored Seconds (SES), Degraded Minutes (DM), and Available Time/Unavailable Time (AVT/UAVT). With a BERT application, you're able to test and measure the quality of data transmission using a 2E11-1 pseudo-random binary sequence (PRBS) at 64kbps. The pattern is based upon the industry standard ITU-T O.152 specification.
Version 5 also offers DTMF tone gapping in the SS7 TGS. This feature lets a user enter user-defined pauses in sending DTMF tones. This is useful for testing IVR and other DTMF tone-based systems where user input needs to be simulated. So, for example, once a call is answered by an IVR, a PIN and an account number may be required to be input with a 5-second gap between the two. This is done by entering the PIN digits followed by a "pause symbol." This feature is supported in bulk call and simulation modes.
Advanced support for Telesoft Design's global protocol range is also offered, permitting connectivity to SS7, Primary Rate ISDN, V5, CAS, and R2 networks. The TRITON MT comes complete with E-1 and T-1 connectivity, configurable at run time along with line impedance selection, line monitoring, or termination modes.
